Prayers to Maddie Jones and her family. wow, I can´t believe the condition. I have great memories of YW´s with her.
This week was the Primera Palada(ground breaking) of the Chile, Concepción Temple! I am thrilled for the people here. This is so motivating for them. We got to watch it over TV from our stake center here.
I have been taking Julia Snow & Quinn´s advice and looking for other ways to show my love and spread the gospel other than just my little spanish and it has been so fun! The branch president´s wife is having a really hard time with life and wants to "get out of her life" but she has made a huge change and wants to be happier. She has asked us to give her a scripture everyday that she can keep in her mind when she has thoughts of doing extreme things. I also just do my best to LOVE love love her all I can.
Today was cambios(transfers) but lucky for us I get to be with my mission mama Hermana Monroy another transfer! wahoo! I needed that too because I don´t know all the streets and stuff yet.
Prayer is so important and not just prayer but prayer with all the energy of your heart. I have felt the love, strength, and humbling power of the gospel again this week and the need to always rely on the Lord.
I wanna work on better prayers, lets all do this together and share experiences!
In district class this week when we were doing role play one of the other missionaries said to me " Hermana Black you have improved so much in Spanish!" I really felt like I haven´t improved very much but maybe I really have?!?!!!
This Sunday we had 4 menos activos (less actives) at church!
Including the whole Familia Fuentes.
Julia one of the less actives has no legs because of an infection in the past, so we asked one of the only members who has a car to help us pick her up. I wanted to just start crying I felt the spirit so strong when we wheeled her into the chapel and we saw the excitment on her face and all the members faces.
I gave a talk on finding Joy even in trials. I feel that no greater joy comes than from sharing the gospel.(motivation for member missionary work too)
I wanna share another experience we had while knocking on a door this week.
We knocked on the contacts door and when she opened it she went on to tell us "No way no way no way I am SUPER Cathiloc and will be forever..etc." Then we talked about our purpose and that it was not to change her religion, but simply to strengthen her faith, and after about the 4th time she said ok COME IN!
We were so shocked. I was praying so hard that she would feel the spirit the whole time. We sang "Nearer my God to thee" and she started to tear up, then we taught baptism and she said she would be baptized if she recieved an answer to her prayer.
Heart softened, right?
Sorry all my thoughts are so scattered!
i love being here on a mision for the Lord.
It really is my greatest joy no matter how hard it is.
I love you all SO much!!!
xoxo
Hermana Black
