Earlier this week we taught a less active named Marcella and showed her mormon messages.
OH MY WORD
haha she was dying!
She was in love with them haha!
She told us she was gonna stop cooking, cleaning and everything just to watch mormon messages ALL DAY long haha! They really are so inspiring, right?!
ANNNNND
she came to church this SUNDAY!
Wahoo! So update on D******: she totally understood the Plan of Salvation and Chastity lessons. She wants to be baptised but we will see if we can work towards that or not with the situation of her living with her boyfriend, etc.
I love her though!
Also she got a job this week and said it was an answer to her prayers and things have been going good in her life ever since she started praying and listening to us. The spirit teaches and we present it, well I do my best to in my little spanish.Wednesday night we slept at the Sister training leaders home in Tome to be closer to where the zone conference was. It was fun to be with other Hermanas! Their casa is so nice and it has a gorgeous view of the ocean! I wish i took pics! Maybe sometime during my mission i will serve near the water, but for now I love little Coelemu because the people are so humble and sweet.
My FIRST Zone Conference was AMAZING!
WOW!
Something that our mission president and his wife always say is:
The Chile, Concepcion Mission is La mejor mision in el mundo! The best mission in the world with the best missionaries in the world.
It is true!
I love this mission already and i love the missionaries in it!
We talked about setting goals and keeping the sabbath day holy. Keeping the Sabbath Day Holy is the focus of the church right now too! We practiced how to teach it and how to more fully live it.
A couple quotes i just loved:
- "What can we do to make this day just a little more special?"- "It´s not a matter of a list of things you can & can´t do rather it is what sign do you want to show the Lord?"
I wanna be better about this NOW and when I return from the mission. :)Our Zone sang "Me Encanta Ver El Templo" with the music I got from the Choir at the CCM -- we made copies. It was beautiful! One Elder played the violin with us too!Hermana Arrington gave the sweetest talk about Neimiah. Read the story in chapter 6. :)
The main point was: "Estoy en una gran orba y puedo ir." -
"I am doing a great work so I cannot come down."
I love her so much she treats every single missionary like her own child.(They also made us a yummy american lunch! haha.)My comp- Hermana Monroy and her last comp have been working with a couple named N**** and N****** for 4 months and they totally believe but no action. We might have to let them go so sad for my comp... but they will maybe be ready later!:)We do have 2 new investigators though!
C****** and C*********! I love em! haha.
C********* calls me her "preciosa." love love. Also a set of sisters named S****** and J*****, they were old investigators long ago but we visted them this week and they are ohhhh soooo good!Domingo!
FAMILIA FUENTES came to church! The whole family!
I talked about them in my last letter. They have been inactive for a few years and we started visiting them and calling them, etc... Anyways.. Este es un milagro!:)
There is SO much less active work to be done but I am so happy for this family and Marcella.FUN FACTS:
- I LOVE ALL THE PEOPLE.....even though I can´t really communicate very much with them. But we all laugh at my spanish and somehow that builds a friendship with the sweet Chilenos.- No dryers! But there are washers so we are so lucky!- Milk comes in boxes in Chile and doesn´t expire for a whole year haha!;)- SO many people say random things to me like "HELLO!" and "1, 2, 3!" haha trying to speak english! I love it, but thats probs how I sound in Spanish hehe!;)- A random dish we had this week at a member´s home was espagueti, hot dogs, and fréjoles blanco all in chicken broth! The food here is very plain, good, not too much flavor, lots of bread and mayo. My favorite thing so far is Churroscos though: a sandwich with Avacado, tomato, steak, and mayo on the amazing bread.
-the Spanish in Chile is Loco,
-I have some flea bites,
-I don´t speak very well...
but somehow....
I JUST LOVE THE ADVENTURE!
And on top of that my testimony especially of the Book of Mormon has grown so much. Personal study is my favorite part of the day.
I LOVE YOU ALL to the moon and back X10!con mucho amor, Hermana Livi Black
