Week Two: August 13, 2015

Hey hey hey it’s back in black with Hermana Black!

First off SO SORRY I didn’t write everyone back.

We don’t have much time.

I love to hear all about what’s happening though! it helps me focus more actually haha, you guys rock!

We take pics of our emails and read them so we don’t waste time.

I got SO sick this week luckily not stomach sick. I had a fever, chest and head cold. But I’m doing great now!

I didn’t want to but my teacher sent me to the MTC doctor, and he gave me two types of medicine.

All the elders in our zone were like why are you still in class you are so sick!!

The sweet elders in our district gave me a blessing though!

Learning a language is hard to be honest.

WE STUDY ALL DAY LONG,

 16 hr days.

We only have one hr for personal gospel study but i love it, i feel like i have already learned so much more about the gospel.
I wish we had more time for that.

The Elder who was struggling is now doing better thanks for praying for him!

I pray for you guys every single day like a million times!!!

I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!

SUNDAYS are the best again, they come at the best time too, you start gettting so worn out by the end of the week and we all think holy cowwwww ahhh . . .  then Sunday remotivates!!!

I love it!

WE watched President Holland’s MTC devo from a while back called If ye love me feed my sheep!

I LOVE THE LORD MORE THAN ANYTHING.

He is my best friend, and that is why I am here.

We started teaching our new investigators this week -- also known as our teachers.  It’s going better as I learn more Spanish and how to teach better.

I love one of our teachers so much and the other one too but he is realllllly strict.

He told my comp and me that we really need some work on how to begin teaching haha.

 I’m working on it!

☺

My friend was having a really hard time staying happy this week. I was trying different things to make her happy and she is doing great now. I also went with her so she could talk to the MTC mental health doc to feel better, she loved it!

I am so grateful for parents who raised me in the church!

THE CHURCH IS TRUE! i love it!!

There are many things I am working on here! haha one is SINGING!

Even though I’m not a singer, I joined the CCM Choir and I love it!! we sang Lord I Would Follow Thee in Spanish and it was powerful.

the spirit speaks all languages!!

Yesterday was our first TRC and we taught this sweet sweet lady she couldn’t understand our Spanish very well, but I bore my testimony and tried my best. After she was crying and kissed our cheeks it was so spiritual!!

It motivates me to learn more so I can help people.

It also totally reminds me of Julia Snows experience this week in TRC.

It is true!!!

loved it!

Julia Snow's Experience:
Livi, I had an amazing experience this week that I want to share with you. So every I try to volunteer in the TRC with the Japanese missionaries, I love doing this! So I went to the MTC. The first set of missionaries I had were two elders and they had super good Japanese considering they had only been there for 3 weeks. I was really impressed! The lesson was pretty good and I was surprised at how much companionship unity they had. They did an awesome job! The second set of missionaries were sisters. Before they came into my room I heard one of them say “lets say a prayer” so I thought “I should pray too” so I did. They came in and it didn’t take long before I realized their Japanese was terrible!! They were struggling a lot to make even simple sentences. All they could do was bear their testimony really simply. Although this was all they could do the spirit was SO strong. One of the sister’s was talking about how Jesus Christ is her friend and Savior. As she sat there struggling to say this and holding a picture of Christ I started to cry. The spirit testified to me in that moment that what she was saying she knew with all her heart and I felt that. It was exactly what I needed to hear. All three of us were tearing up and there was just so much love. This experience made me realize that the spirit transcends any language barrier. I had always heard that while on my mission, but being on the investigator side of things at the TRC I felt that so strongly. As long as you are trying to speak from your heart and listen to the spirit the Lord will touch other’s heart through you!!! I know that you will touch so many people’s lives through your testimony! You are such an amazing person, missionary, and example. Don’t get discouraged when you feel like you aren’t progressing in the language as much as you would like. The gift of tongues is so real and the spirit will help you know what to say when you need to say it.
FUN FACTS:

- There is music that plays in Mexico City on the weekends all night haha and one night the macarena started playing so my comp and i jumped out of bed and started dancing!!

- The food is good but getting a lil boring, but i LOVE the spicy avocado salsa!

- In one of our lessons i said "Our fish (pescados) can be forgiven rather than our sins (pecados) hahahaha.

Our investigator was dying laughing, once i realized i was laughing so hard too!

-Convo with another Hermana the other day on a hard day:

Hermana: in tears* "I wanna be happy!!"

Me: what makes you happy in normal life?

Hermana:: making people laugh

Me: you’re good at that!

Hermana: *crying harder* I don’t even know what I wanna do with my life yet and I’ve already done 2 yrs of school at BYU-I. Everyone says do what makes you happy and what would make me happy would be being a comedian or going to clown school....but that’s not a stable job.

Me. *dying laughing on the inside*

hahahaha kooky but I love her anyways!

- This week we started solo espanol while in the classroom and if you speak English it costs you a push up or squat per word!!!

haha ive done a lot!!

- When we were visiting the classroom of the other Hermana's in our zone their district was having an American Idol and a rock, paper, scissors tournament! haha and we thought our district was off topic hahaha!!

One elder sang a very very mission appropriate song...... "im bringing sexy back..." hahah oh dear.....

I MISS YOU GUYS SO MUCH!

I cry about it sometimes... but don’t worry about it too much.

I LOVE YOU ALLLLLLL TO THE MOON AND BACK X10!!!

xoxo- Hermana Livi Lou Black
